Create a Repeatable Routine
A consistent routine is safer than checking cameras randomly. Wind the Music Box, lower the monitor, flash the hallway, inspect both vents, and repeat.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, commonly called FNAF 2, is an intense point-and-click survival horror game created by Scott Cawthon. You are the new night security guard at a redesigned Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, where friendly-looking animatronics become dangerously active after midnight.
Unlike the first game, your office has no security doors. You must monitor the restaurant through surveillance cameras, inspect both ventilation shafts, conserve your flashlight battery, wind the Prize Corner Music Box, and quickly wear a Freddy Fazbear mask when an animatronic enters the office.
Your shift begins at midnight. Can you manage every threat and remain alive until the clock reaches 6 AM?

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is the second main game in the Five Nights at Freddy’s series. It places you in the role of Jeremy Fitzgerald, a night guard working inside a new Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza location in 1987.
You cannot walk around the restaurant or fight the animatronics directly. Instead, you remain inside the security office and use cameras, vent lights, a flashlight, the Freddy mask, and the Music Box to survive.
Every animatronic behaves differently. Most can be fooled by the mask, but Withered Foxy must be pushed back with the flashlight, while the Puppet is controlled by continuously winding the Music Box. Balloon Boy cannot kill you directly, but allowing him into the office disables your flashlight and leaves you vulnerable.
Each shift lasts from 12 AM until 6 AM. Later nights increase the animatronics’ activity and force you to perform several defensive actions quickly and in the correct order.
The original Five Nights at Freddy’s allowed the security guard to close protective doors. FNAF 2 removes those doors completely.
Your office has an open central hallway and two ventilation entrances. Animatronics can approach from any of these directions, so you must repeatedly alternate between checking the cameras, flashing the hallway, and inspecting the vents.
There is no single defense that stops every character. Survival depends on recognizing the threat and responding with the correct tool.
Raise the camera monitor to observe rooms throughout Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The camera system helps you locate animatronics and monitor important areas before they reach your office.
Camera feeds can become dark or temporarily disrupted when an animatronic moves. Do not spend too long searching every room because threats can continue approaching while the monitor is raised.
The most important location is the Prize Corner, also identified as CAM 11, because it contains the Music Box.
The Puppet is controlled by the Music Box inside the Prize Corner. Open CAM 11 and hold the winding control to refill its circular meter.
The meter decreases whenever you leave it unattended. If it empties completely, the Puppet will escape, and neither the Freddy mask nor the flashlight can reliably save you.
You must therefore develop a consistent rhythm: open the cameras, wind the box, lower the monitor, inspect the hallway and vents, then return to the Prize Corner.
A hollow Freddy Fazbear head is your primary defense against most animatronics. Put it on immediately when a compatible animatronic enters the office.
The mask makes the animatronic believe that you are another character rather than a human security guard. Keep it on until the threat leaves, but avoid wearing it longer than necessary because you cannot check cameras or wind the Music Box while using it.
The mask does not protect you from every enemy. In particular, Withered Foxy requires the flashlight, and the Puppet must be contained through the Music Box.
Withered Foxy can appear at the far end of the central hallway. The Freddy mask does not fool him.
Flash the hallway light repeatedly to force Foxy back. Short, controlled flashes are generally more useful than holding the flashlight continuously because its battery is limited.
Ignoring Foxy for too long—or losing access to the flashlight because of Balloon Boy—can quickly end the night.
Animatronics including Toy Bonnie, Toy Chica, Mangle, and Balloon Boy can approach through the vents.
Use the vent-light buttons to inspect the left and right entrances. If an animatronic is visible, prepare to put on the Freddy mask. Some characters may disappear from the vent opening shortly before entering your office, so remain ready after lowering the camera monitor.
Audio cues can also help you recognize movement inside the ventilation system.
The camera system does not rely on the same limited building power used in the first game, but your flashlight has a finite battery.
Use brief flashes to inspect the central hallway and manage Foxy. Holding the light unnecessarily can drain the battery and leave you defenseless during the final hours of the shift.
The battery must last until 6 AM, so every flash matters on the more difficult nights.
The restaurant’s new attractions include:
Their colorful designs and facial-recognition technology make them appear more child-friendly than the original characters, but they become hostile during the night shift.
Most Toy animatronics can be countered with the Freddy mask, although their routes and warning signs differ.
Older, damaged characters are stored inside the restaurant for replacement parts:
These damaged animatronics are visually more threatening and become increasingly active as the nights progress. Withered Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica generally require the mask, while Foxy must be controlled using the flashlight.
Balloon Boy behaves differently from the lethal animatronics. He approaches through the left ventilation shaft and can be stopped by putting on the Freddy mask at the correct moment.
If Balloon Boy enters your office, he disables the vent lights and flashlight. He does not directly produce the normal game-over attack, but losing the flashlight makes Withered Foxy extremely dangerous.
Listen for Balloon Boy’s voice and laughter because they can reveal how close he is.
Golden Freddy is a rare and dangerous threat that can suddenly appear in the office or hallway during advanced nights.
React quickly instead of staring at him. Depending on where he appears, rapidly changing your current view or using the proper defensive action can prevent his attack.
The main campaign contains five increasingly difficult night shifts. Each night introduces new threats or raises animatronic activity.
Completing the fifth night unlocks additional challenges, including a sixth night. The original game also features a Custom Night where the difficulty of individual animatronics can be adjusted.
Availability of bonus nights may depend on the browser version hosted on the page.
Phone calls, newspaper information, environmental clues, and retro-style minigames reveal pieces of the restaurant’s unsettling history.
The game does not explain every event directly. Players must connect clues involving the animatronics, missing children, previous restaurants, and the mysterious events surrounding Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.
A consistent routine is safer than checking cameras randomly. Wind the Music Box, lower the monitor, flash the hallway, inspect both vents, and repeat.
The Puppet cannot be fooled by the Freddy mask. Visit the Prize Corner regularly and never allow the Music Box meter to become dangerously low.
After lowering the camera monitor, be prepared to equip the Freddy mask instantly. Even a short delay can be fatal when an animatronic has entered the office.
Give the central hallway several brief flashes during each routine. Withered Foxy can attack if ignored, and the mask will not stop him.
Use short flashes instead of holding the light continuously. Your remaining battery becomes increasingly important near the end of a shift.
Scraping, movement, voices, and laughter can provide information without opening the camera system. Headphones make these cues easier to recognize.
If Balloon Boy reaches the office, your flashlight becomes unusable. Watch the left vent and respond with the Freddy mask before he enters.
Tracking every character individually wastes time. Focus on the Prize Corner and use the hallway and vent lights to identify immediate threats.
Most animatronics require the mask, Foxy requires repeated flashlight flashes, and the Puppet requires the Music Box. Choosing the wrong defense can end the night.
An animatronic may force the monitor down. Equip the mask immediately and wait until the threat has clearly left before continuing your routine.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 was developed and published by Scott Cawthon as the second main installment in the Five Nights at Freddy’s series.
The sequel expands the original game’s surveillance-based concept while removing its most dependable defense: the security doors. In their place, it introduces the Freddy mask, limited flashlight, open ventilation entrances, and constantly draining Music Box.
These interconnected systems create pressure through multitasking rather than direct combat. The player must repeatedly choose which danger deserves immediate attention while knowing that every action leaves another system unattended.

The original Windows version was released on November 10, 2014, as confirmed by the game’s official Steam page.
Yes. Although it is the second released game, most of its main story takes place in 1987, before the events depicted in the first Five Nights at Freddy’s.
Monitor the cameras, keep the Music Box wound, check both vents, flash Withered Foxy in the hallway, and use the Freddy mask against compatible animatronics.
The new security office does not have protective doors. Players must depend on the Freddy mask, flashlight, cameras, vent lights, and Music Box instead.
The Freddy mask fools most animatronics into believing you are one of them. It does not stop Withered Foxy or the Puppet.
Flash the central hallway light at Withered Foxy several times. The Freddy mask does not repel him.
If the Music Box fully unwinds, the Puppet escapes from the Prize Corner and can attack the player. Keep returning to CAM 11 to wind it.
Balloon Boy enters through the left vent. If he reaches the office, he disables your flashlight and vent lights, leaving you vulnerable to Foxy.
The main campaign contains five nights, followed by an unlockable sixth night. The original game also includes a customizable seventh night.
The browser edition may work on many compatible desktop networks, although availability depends on the rules and filtering applied by your school, workplace, or network administrator.
