Establish a Steady Rhythm
Avoid clicking as quickly as possible. Use short, controlled movements and allow gravity to bring the carpet down naturally.
Magic Carpet Rush
Magic Carpet Rush is an endless fantasy flying game developed and published by lalo.games. Guide an enchanted carpet above a magical city, pass through openings between ornamental towers, collect glowing lanterns, and survive as the game gradually becomes faster.
The controls are simple: click, tap, press Space, or use the Up Arrow to move the carpet upward. Gravity continuously pulls it down, so every movement must be timed carefully.
Each tower formation you successfully pass adds one point to your score. The challenge continues until the carpet collides with an obstacle or leaves the playable area.

Magic Carpet Rush is a casual endless arcade game built around simple one-button flying mechanics. The player controls a decorated magical carpet moving automatically across the screen.
Your main objective is to guide the carpet through gaps between enchanted towers without touching them. New obstacle formations continuously appear at different heights, preventing every run from following exactly the same path.
Glowing lanterns can also appear inside the openings. Collecting them increases a separate lantern counter and produces a golden magical effect. These collectibles are optional, so players must decide whether reaching a lantern is worth the additional risk.
The game becomes more difficult as the score increases because the horizontal movement speed gradually rises. There is no final level—the objective is to survive, collect lanterns, and improve your best score.
The carpet moves forward automatically while gravity pulls it downward. Every click, tap, or supported keyboard input gives the carpet an upward push.
Holding the carpet at the correct height requires a consistent rhythm. Clicking too frequently may send it into an upper tower, while waiting too long may cause it to fall below the gap.
The carpet also rotates according to its vertical movement. It tilts upward when rising and downward when falling, providing visual feedback about its current direction.
Each obstacle consists of an upper and lower fantasy tower with an open space between them. The height of this opening changes whenever a new obstacle is generated.
Passing the complete tower formation awards one point. Colliding with either tower immediately ends the run.
Look ahead at the next opening rather than concentrating entirely on the carpet. This gives you more time to adjust your height.
Collectible lanterns can appear inside some tower openings. They float gently, rotate, and remain visually separate from the obstacles.
Collecting a lantern:
Lanterns are not required to continue the run. If one appears in a dangerous position, avoiding it may be the better decision.
Magic Carpet Rush begins at a manageable movement speed. As your score increases, the game gradually moves faster.
The opening size remains playable, but less reaction time is available during longer runs. This makes accurate timing increasingly important.
The speed increase is limited rather than continuing without control, allowing difficult runs to remain playable.
You earn one point whenever an obstacle formation moves completely behind the carpet.
The current score appears at the top of the gameplay screen. A small animation and scoring sound confirm each successful pass.
When the run ends, the final score is displayed alongside the number of lanterns collected.
The highest score is stored locally using Unity’s player-preference system. If the current score exceeds the previous record, it becomes the new best score.
The saved record remains available on the same browser and device unless the browser’s local game data is removed.
The game uses one complete fantasy-city illustration scaled to cover the camera view. This prevents visible seams between repeated background sections.
The environment includes clouds, floating architecture, distant mountains, decorated towers, and colors inspired by Moroccan and Arabian fantasy artwork.
The carpet leaves a short gold-and-turquoise trail while moving through the environment.
Every upward movement creates a soft magical spark burst. Additional effects appear when collecting a lantern or colliding with an obstacle.
The game also includes:
Magic Carpet Rush includes looping background music and individual sounds for:
The audio is generated through the game’s C# systems rather than depending on large external audio files. This helps keep the WebGL project lightweight.
Music begins after a browser interaction when required by browser audio restrictions.
Avoid clicking as quickly as possible. Use short, controlled movements and allow gravity to bring the carpet down naturally.
Focus on the obstacle ahead rather than looking only at the carpet. Early preparation gives you more time to reach the correct height.
Flying close to the top or bottom edge leaves little space to recover. Return toward the center of the screen whenever possible.
Every upward movement changes the carpet’s momentum. Do not click if the carpet is already traveling toward the correct position.
Lanterns provide an additional objective, but they do not increase the main survival score. Avoid a lantern if collecting it could cause a collision.
The beginning of a run is slower than the later sections. As your score rises, make decisions earlier because obstacles approach more quickly.
The carpet’s visual angle indicates whether it is rising or falling. Use this information to understand its current momentum.
Passing directly beside a tower increases the risk of collision. Aim for the central area of each opening when possible.
If the carpet becomes too high or too low, avoid making a large correction at the last moment. Several smaller adjustments are usually safer.
The scoring sound and animation confirm that an obstacle was passed, but the next formation may already be approaching. Keep watching the flight path.
Magic Carpet Rush was developed and published by lalo.games as an original casual game designed primarily for browser play.
The project began with an endless flying concept inspired by accessible one-button arcade gameplay. The familiar structure was redesigned around a magical carpet, ornamental towers, collectible lanterns, and a Moroccan-inspired fantasy environment.
Several important problems were discovered during development and playtesting.
The first version displayed repeated background images side by side. Although the artwork was attractive, the visible division between the copies made the environment feel disconnected. The final version replaced this system with one complete background illustration scaled to cover the camera view.
The original flying effect used simple pink particles that did not match the game’s visual identity. These were replaced with softer gold-and-turquoise sparks and a short magical trail.
A repeated Unity Console warning also appeared because the particle-system duration was being changed while the system was already playing. The burst system was corrected by stopping and clearing the particle system before modifying its settings and emitting new particles.
Background music, button sounds, scoring feedback, lantern collection audio, collision effects, menus, pause controls, and visible Lalo Games branding were added during later improvements.
